Before & After and some great junky finds

I picked up the sturdy, not so stylish chair at the thrift store. I really like the back, but wanted to glam it up. I little black paint and some faux zebra fir makes all the difference.

I just love how it turned out, perfect for fall/winter.

I came across the adorable crib, not sure if it was for babies or dolls. Either way it was too cute to pass up. I thought it might work to put all baby/children related signs in it for my booth display. That is if Makayla doesn't steal it for her dolls.
Do you see the long wood pieces? Apparently they are from an old organ. Not sure what purpose they served by the lady (thanks Sue) I got them from has about 40 of them. She thought maybe I would take them apart to make signs with, which of course I can, BUT wouldn't it be cool to use the whole thing. Any suggestions? Maybe just paint Welcome, Country Kitchen, etc in black, leaving the wood natural and hang them on the wall. Or numbers of some sort. Would love to here all of your ideas!

Do any of you read http://cobblestonefarms.blogspot.com/ well she did a post where she turned old table legs into candle holder. They are amazing. I saw a chair at Salvation Army before I read this that was broken, but had great legs that would be perfect for this. I am going back today and hopefully it is still there.
Have a great day!

  1. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the chair!!! That would be AWESOME in Maya's room. Where did you get that fabric? I am dying for some zebra fabric to do a chair in our house for Maya's room and her valances (plan to do a box valance). Zizette

  2. Wow! The chair is so chic now! The fabric looks perfect with the style of the chair too. I'm stumped for now on the old organ pieces but sometimes you just have to sit with things before an idea pops in your head. Thanks for including your link for THRIFTday on my blog! Can't wait to see what you have for next week!

  3. Oh you are to sweet - but I LOVE YOUR stuff too. Oh my, wish I was closer. The chair looks awesome - somebody will snatch it up in a jiffy if you don't keep it for yourself. I've got one of those lil' cribs too in the baby section of the shop - I usually keep it filled with the handmade baby blankets - I'm certain whatever you do with it - will be perfect. Have a great weekend! Cathy
