Dresser Labels

This was my husbands dresser when he was a kid. We "inherited" it a few years ago and I gave it a paint job. Eventually Makayla ended up with it. She gave it her own special touch. Notice the labels on each drawer. She was in kindergarten when she added this so the spelling is a bit off. It makes me smile every time I see it. We have been rearranging our house and I ended up with this dresser in my bedroom. I don't know if I have the heart to paint over her handy work. Chris keeps opening the drawer marked shirts looking for his tee-shirts. Ha, maybe I need to fix that.
sorry for the blurry picture.
Remember my all time favorite curb find? Well the mirror is finally in and I am using it. I still need to paint it, what color??
My new "artwork" an old window and some vintage wallpaper.

Perfect Match

Remember the old metal sewing table base my father in law gave me? Well its been kicking around forever and FINALLY inspiration hit the weekend. I have this old box that I thought would fit perfectly on top. Of course I had to go one step further and add some wording, Les Fleurs seemed appropriate,Look at the base its a mini fleur de lis. PERFECT! I can't wait to see some beautiful pink flowers spilling over the sides.
Apparently this was the weekend for inspiration and using old sewing bases. The Painted House created one using on old wagon. A must see!

Happy 15th Birthday to my favorite son

Today is Jonathan's birthday, boy has 15 years gone too fast. It seems like yesterday he was born. He is growing into a fine young man. The picture of us was taken last year at this time so he is even taller now. He is not longer my little Jon boy.

Happy Birthday, we love you very much!

Wall of Doors

As you may or may not know I am Obsessed with old doors. If one is laying on the curb I have to stop and pick it up. I can't help myself. So what else to do but create a faux wall in my booth. I really hated the lattice and no matter how much stuff I hung on it it never looked right. I lined the doors up and it really does cover it well. I need 2 more doors to completely cover it all. I picked up one last night it just needs a good de-leading and painting. I will keep my eye open for another.

The Shops at 25 West Commercial - Featuring Me! (along with some other fabulous shopkeepers)

Enjoy! But I must say I am a bit disappointed on the shots from my booth, the two signs that they focused on doesn't represent me well, I would have preferred a shot of my whole booth. But either way I am honored to be in it. This will be shown throughout the month of April on Mohawk Valley Living, you can view episodes here.

I am here, I know its been a bit since I have posted. I have been busy, track and softball have started, I am walking about 3 miles each night after work (half of it uphill) I keep forgetting to bring my camera to show you my walking route.

I am completely rearranging my booth today, pictures to come. In the mean time remember the pretty in pink sewing cabinet? Here it is with the sewing machine. Darling. Apparently it is from the 30s -40s. It has a cute matching carrying case and the machine still works so you could use it as display or sew with it! Be back later with booth pictures.

Hall Tree

A while back I picked up a great wood door off the curb. For the longest time I have wanted to create a hall tree out of it. I have patiently been looking for a second door to use. No luck! Then I saw this post from Joys of Home and it hit me, I don't need another door. I already had this little table and it worked perfectly!
I used an old glass door knob
Of course added some hooks and a one of a kind mirror. I was going to have a piece of mirror cut to fit into the square but I like how this looks. The mirror is permanently attached so no need to worry about it falling off. My favorite black and white.
I will be linking this post up to

Candelabra

Remember this amazing chandelier I picked up about a month ago? Well I finally got to bring it home and transform it. I debated on rewiring or not. In the end I decided to turn it into a candelabra. I love how it turned out. A little paint and some crystals made a huge difference.

This will look great inside or outside. Now do I keep or sell, decisions decisions.
I used three different crystals they all seem to work together.
I was also able to get a window chalkboard completed too (Chris did most of the work, I just painted the chalkboard) The arches in the window are fantastic. I am so glad we had beautiful weather so I was able to get so much done.

Finally

Remember how I talked before about wanting an old chicken feeder for my dishes. Well look what I found today. Just perfect! Along with two great bottles and another gold frame.
I cleaned it up, sealed the rust and painted the wire things black. Just look at that patina!
Can't wait to fill it up with all my plates.
Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday, did you find any treasures?

Recycled Materials

On Saturday, April 24th I will have a booth at the Canal Place Park during weekend long earth day activities. As a true junker/ curb shopper I thought it would be appropriate to bring all things created from others junk. Junk I find or given to me, recycled materials.

Remember the table leg signs I created before? I decided to make a few more from an old broken table found via curb shopping. I have two done, two to go. Here are the first two.

Both were created completely with recycled materials, table legs, scrap wood, leftover chain and miscellaneous screws.

The weather is supposed to be beautiful today! Have a great day!
