This and That

That is what I have been up to. A little of this and a little of that. I have been trying to decorate, rearrange, finish signs (Mary and Jenny your signs are coming I promise) and finish some furniture pieces.

I finally finished my own window memory board. I have made 2 for the shops as mine set uncompleted.

A finished sign

The start to our outside decorating. I (Chris) still has to hand the rest of the lights.

Its that time of year I guess. Busy, Busy, Busy.

I have an apprentice!

Meet Makayla my apprentice. Many of you already know her, BUT I bet you didn't know she a quite good at making signs. What do you think? Not bad.

She is very proud of her first collection of signs and she should be!

I LOVE garbage night!

I admit it I love finding a great piece of furniture like this! Its even better when it is on the curb for free. Can you believe it?? It amazes me sometimes that people just throw these things away. When we drove by I knew I had to have it. I was so nervous as we went home to get the truck that someone else would take my find. It was still there!! While we were loading it into truck the former owner asked if I wanted the mirror to it as well. Of course I do! Still in shock. Sorry it was hard to take a good picture, on without the flash one with. I can see it painted white with some carved decals maybe new glass knobs. Both my daughters already want it, but I think I may win.
How was your night? Find anything good?

K.M. Longworth Co.

A few months ago I was asked about making a sign for a new clothing and furniture boutique that will be opening soon in Little Falls. Of course I was excited about this project. The sign needed to be about 8 feet long. A challenge to say the least as I prefer to use recycled materials whenever possible. About the time I took on the project I found a wood valance on craigslist. It was 10 foot long. As soon as I saw this I knew it would work. Here is how it looked when I brought it home. At first I had thought of cutting off the scalloped edge, but we decided to keep it. I am so glad we did. It was cut it down by 2 feet to make it work.
I love how it has turned out

Here is the store front pre-sign.

Chris prepping it to hang

All hung. It looks as if it was meant to be.

I am very excited for the store to open. I will be sure to share pictures!

Our Family Portrait!

Don't you just love our new altered art family portrait. I know I do! My new friend Amber made this for us. Isn't her work amazing! She has a space at the Shops at 25 West and a blog...www.persnicketychic.blogspot.com

Now my delema...I put the picture in a great old wood frame. Do I keep it distressed white? Or paint it black?

Replacement Signs

The Shops at 25 West has a display that lists some of the 2nd Floor Vendors. Well that display was a bit outdated so I was able to update it with some of the new vendors.

Unfortunately the shopkeepers with full booth space have preference over half booths. So sadly I didn't make the list. Maybe someday I can expand?

A few random shots of my booth and a few more holiday signs.
