I'm Having Issues

I am having issues with my custom order, I need to find the right glitter...so it is not finished today. I'll share a few small signs I finished up in the meantime.

Finishing Up Things

I am finishing up an order for a little girls room...hopefully I'll have some pictures for you tomorrow. In the mean time, I thought I would share a little sign I finished tonight.

Quiet Thursday

Unfortunately I have no new signs to show you tonight. It's been a rather quiet evening, just trying to clean and do laundry so not very exciting. I did get a chance to go to Salvation Army which was nice I haven't been there in forever. I only found a candle holder...not sure if I'll keep it like this or paint it. Also found two small canning jars, I have never seen them in that size before I wish they had more. Not sure if i will use them in the kitchen or to hold buttons/crafty items.

I'll leave you with a picture of my current favorite sign in my house. It hangs in my kitchen off of a salvage piece of trim that came off an old hutch. Both have a crackle and distressed finish. I really like the wire basket too!

Welcome Spring

A little different version of the one I did earlier. I left the center white and added two birds and some buttons.I debated on what to write on it though...Welcome Spring won, it seems to fit.

For now it will hang in my entrance...waiting for Spring.

Lets Make Something Together!

I got the inspiration for this from a dish towel...anything can give you inspiration. You just need to adjust it to what your good at. For me it is painting. This is a really quick and easy project. First you will need a piece of wood, whatever size you want. (use a piece of scrap wood, if you have a dollar tree near you they have those small wood plaques and they already have a ribbon on them) Next paint it whatever color you want for the background, I used cream. Which I know its hard to tell in this picture. Once the paint is dry, (if your impatient like I am you can use a blow dryer to speed up the drying process) using a ruler mark out how many stripes you want, I went with four stripes. Next tape off the stripes to give yourself a clean lines.
Paint the stripes whatever colors you want.

While you wait for the stripes to dry, cut out a bird silhouette from some scrapbook paper, and decoupage on the wood. You can sand all the edges down for an aged appearance. To hang you can drill two holes and put some ribbon through or just attach the ribbon with two screws in the back. I think it looks very spring like. You could also add your initials above the bird or "Welcome" to it if it looks too plain.

I had fun creating this and I hope you try it too, adjust the colors or use a different image to reflect your taste.

Moving on to the Bathroom

No I didn't paint that room...yet
I thought I'd show a couple of signs that were made for the bathroom...Guess I try to cover every room in the house. I am working on some garden inspired signs and I have some custom orders to fill...that should keep me busy and of course I'll share them as I finish.

Kitchen

Some signs are just meant to be hung in a kitchen, do you have a favorite?

Still painting

I really like how the living room turned out so I thought I would move on to the Dining Room. We made this corner cabinet a few years ago out of a salvaged window. There isn't much room in the dining room, so this works great holding dishes and things.

I painted the door white and added some black chicken wire behind the glass. I found some molding in the basement for the top to finish it off, just waiting for Chris to cut and hang for me.


I should have done this a long time ago, I like how it looks. It didn't cost me a thing, just my time.

What a Day!

I accomplished a lot today, and I am not even done yet. I painted a new "sign" It is actually a glass door to an old bookshelf. I painted and distressed the frame black and painted right on the glass. Not sure how long it will hold up, especially when it gets dusty and I try and clean it. Sorry about the glare, my photography skills are not the best.
