Hey Christina! Yeah, these little guys can be a pain in the butt, BUT it can be done...I re-peat, it can be done. ;) I did some for my daughter's room quite a while ago...you can see a pic of them here: http://littlebitvintage.blogspot.com/2010/01/project-vintage-whimsy-phase-1.html
I didn't get the Martha Stewart kit...it was cheaper just to get the supplies; however, I did follow her directions. The tricky part is pulling all the pieces apart. Is this where you had problems? You can e-mail me with your questions if you want.
Hey there...this is my first time here, but I had to comment. I made these for my nieces birthday party back in Aug. or Sept and did a tutorial, because Martha was lacking one little step that makes a ton of difference. After you do the accordian fold, fold it in half, cut the corners of the fold, open it{still accordian folded}, tie with a twist tie or something, then fluff them out. Elise

Those are absolutely adorable. I haven't tried making them myself, though they look a bit complicated, so I'm not sure if I will. :/
ReplyDeleteHi Christina,
ReplyDeleteI saw some of her kits at Big Lots the other day and almost bought one! It might be easier with a kit??
This gal might be able to give some pointers:

She recently did a post about them, and hers looked cute!
Good Luck!
