Office Signs

There are so many possibilities for signs. I had the opportunity to make name signs for the doors in my office. We are a very small office so it was rather quick and easy. These were stained oak to match the decor with black writing.

Today is the last day to enter for the drawing...I will not accept anymore entries after midnight, I will be drawing Wednesday night about 6pm. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!

Questions Answered

I have had a few questions about the signs I create, so I thought I would try to answer them all here. I made my first sign at about age 8, LOL. Well maybe not 8 but I was younger. When my parents sold the home I grew up in a friend from high schools aunt bought it. While cleaning out the house they came across a sign I had made with the whole family's name on it. So way back then I must have known I was destined to make signs. I actually started making them just for myself. I loved signs and still do but couldn't afford to spend big money on them. Slowly I made more and more for other people as gifts and requests.

I try to use all reclaimed wood. I get my wood from many different places. People give me left overs and scraps, old pallets and even from pieces of furniture. I do have to buy wood on occasion but I try not to. This is my way of "recycling."



I hand paint all of the signs, I use to use stencils, but now it is paint pens and brushes.



I LOVE what I do and wish I could do it full time, but something like this isn't reliable. I will leave you with a few signs. (hopefully I haven't shared before)

A Lovely Day

That what yesterday was! The weather was beautiful, my oldest daughter, Kim and I spent a few hours together at the Garden Show at the Canal Place. Below is the lady who has dejavu inside the Shops at 25 West. She had a small display outside yesterday. I LOVE her stuff great eclectic finds!

Next is Paca Gardens they are an Alpaca Farm that uses the wool or hair, not sure what to call it and makes yarn and various other things (I am currently making a sign for her and I will be sure to share when I am done)

Lat but not least was Kim as in Kreations by Kim, she makes amazing flower arrangements.

A you can see there were many other booths, along with local artist painting in the park. They had a great day outside and inside at the shops so I will be busy today making new.

I also delivered these signs to Treasures in Herkimer (sorry I will take my camera next time) in trade for 2 windows and a cute little wood table, soon to be painted. What a great Saturday, hope all of your was great as well.

Gardening Celebration

For those of you that are local come on down to the Canal Place, Little Falls on Saturday, June 6 for the Second Annual Art of Gardening Celebration for the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts. They offering plants, herbs, planters, garden design, outdoor furniture, stone work, and many other treats including a wellness garden. Of course you can also come inside and see all the wonderful vendors!

My Shop

I took some signs down today. I continue to have sales, it still surprises me. I also added another table to sell since the other sold so quickly. After I left there I stopped at the thrift store in Little Falls I ended up with a lot of great stuff that I can't wait to transform. I will be sure to show pictures. Also stopped at Treasures in Herkimer, LOVE that place! Picked up another window to work on as well. All and all I am keeping very busy and I love it!

A Few Signs

I painted a few more signs, thought I would share before they go in my booth. I am going over tomorrow after work, hopefully I have sold a few more things.

So Far So Good

Well as of yesterday I have sold a few signs, a hand painted dresser and have 2 custom orders. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come. It is always nerve wrecking starting something new, but I know it will be well worth it. I have already met some great people and will hopefully be sharing them with you. I will leave you with some random signs.
