She's Got Legs

I cannot resist great table legs. People just discard them and I have got to have them!
Look at the detail, just gorgeous!
And I do use them too, remember the Garden Sign?
What strange item is simply irresistible to you?

Faces of Astarte

Natural & Organic Beautique.

My beautiful friend Christine owns Faces of Astarte.
Christine is a:
Licensed Cosmetologist
Make-Up Artist
Henna /Natural Pigment Hair Colorist
Holistic Beauty Practitioner & Consultant
Environmental Beauty Advocate

I was honored to provide her with a sign for her new location. Being environmentally friendly we decided to re purpose a vintage frame, painted black with gold accenting the carved detail. The background is two toned purple with a metallic purple design.
Here is Chris working hanging the sign from the 10 foot ceiling.
Front View
Of course we couldn't leave the back blank

How was your Saturday?

We celebrated Makayla's 9th birthday. We had lots of fun!
Found another dresser FREE on the curb. Can you believe it another one? This one is in perfect condition other then it needs a paint job.

I am now painting another piece of furniture, you'll see it soon!

I hope your day was a great!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl

The baby of the family turns nine today. Where has the time gone? Happy Birthday Makayla, we love you very much!
On that note I would like to share my favorite quote that I recently put on our kitchen wall. I still need to had something in the middle but I thought it was appropriate as this is another moment in our life.

Vintage Dresser

Have you seen the latest issue of 100 Decorating Ideas under $100? Well I fell in love with the furniture piece on page 27 using vintage buttons. Isn't it lovely.

Well I found this dresser on the curb a few weeks ago and of course knew it had potential. Missing the top drawer again, Chris just cut it down like we did with the other dresser.

After a fresh coat of paint, some distressing,

and of course some buttons for each side,

I have my own version for way less then $100.

A beautiful Vintage Dresser!

panier

You all gave me such amazing suggestions for my basket. In the end I decided to use panier (basket in French) Then it doesn't matter what I am using it for. This suggestion was from http://designonpost.wordpress.com/. You all are awesome and I know I can count on all of you for great advise!

Let there be Light

I find myself drawn to lamps lately. I picked up this one because I fell in love with the glass and chippy paint.
I also found this one, I just love the color. I immediately saw a candlestick

After removing the wiring

Chris made an attachment out of steel that holds the candle snugly in place.

I absolutely love it! I am hoping to create candle holders out of lamps to sell in my shop. I should have a few more to share soon.
Recycling at its best!

Happy New Year

I hope you all are having a wonderful New Year! As everyone slept in here I played with my camera taking random photos of my house.
