All Moved In

I am all moved in at The Shops at 25 West. Of course I already have ideas of rearranging so I will be back tomorrow. Hey I am coming up on my 100th post I think a giveaway is called for. I need some suggestions, a custom sign for the winner OR a few smaller signs....what do you all think???

Another Window

I am busy trying to get ready for the big move in tomorrow, but I still managed to paint up another window. I am in love with the scroll design, probably getting a little carried away but I still love it! Sorry for the poor picture quality, my camera is dead I took these on my cell phone. Below is a closer look.

Mom's Diner

I finished this sign last night, but no one else is feeling the love. The kids think it is silly, Chris doesn't like the tea cup. Oh well, I thought it was cute. If she doesn't sell I'll just paint it over.

Finished

Remember the window frame and the wood Chris was cutting for me? Well it is finally done. While surfing the Internet when I was home sick I came across a picture. Not sure if it was painted, paper or what it was. I just loved it, this is my version. Of course now I can't find the place where I saw it so if it looks familiar let me know. Just LOVE the black and white.

What were we thinking!

Chris agreed to letting the girls have a kitten (I still can't believe it) After weeks of waiting they are finally ready and we went last night to pick one out. Well...2 came home with us, sisters, Luna and Shale. As if we needed 2 more pets! BUT they are so cute and seem to keep each other company. Below is Luna.

Feeling Better

I am FINALLY feeling better! Boy it has not been a good week so far. Laying around does give me the chance to dream up some new creations. Since I haven't painted in FOREVER I whipped out this sign this afternoon. I never thought I would say this but I am ready to go back to work and get back to normal! Have a great night.

Still Here!

I know it has been a few days since I have posted, so not like me. I have a good excuse though, I have been sick since Saturday, Strep Throat, yuck!!! So of course I haven't accomplished much, I have been lucky to get the dishes done every other day. I will have lots to share soon. Not only things I have been working on but an announcement of sorts. I cannot wait to share with you! I know the picture has nothing to do with the post, but enjoy.

Chair Transformation

I have had this chair for years and it has had many make overs. You see the burlap chairs everywhere right now, so I figured I would give it a try. I painted the chair a nice cream, bought some burlap at Wal Mart for $1.00. I only needed 1/2 yard. I added the skirt I guess you could call it, not sure if I will keep it yet. Very simple, it took no time at all.

Custom Sign

I had the opportunity to make a sign for Michelle at From House to Home. If you haven't seen her blog, check it out. She has great design sense and is in the process of redoing her home. Her sign looks great on her front porch and I am so glad she likes it! Thanks again Michelle for the kind words .

Planting

I have been busy planting the flowers I got for Mothers Day. I can't wait until they fill in and really bloom! I still need some more flowers and I plan on adding a few each week. I am so glad the weather is finally nice.

The Marina

We have a marina right in our village. It is a great place to go and watch the boats or just hang out. I was fortunate enough to make a few signs for the cafe there. The are serving sno cones or Bomber Ice as they are calling it. (Our school is the Ilion Bombers.) I can't take credit for the above signs, the ones I did are below.

I got to visit the local nursery to pick out my flowers. Too bad it is in the forties today so I cannot plant any of them yet.

TGIF

I am so ready for the weekend! It's been one crazy week!

My favorite flower is finally in bloom....the lilac. I brought in 2 bouquets last night, I just love the smell.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I know I haven't been posting quite as much as I usually do. Things have been crazy here. Between work, softball, and track I have been very busy.

I just finished up an order, but I am waiting to share that as I want to be sure she receives it and all is well.

I am also working on an order for 5 signs, all for the same person! Remember the marina well I am doing the signs for the cafe there. So needless to say my house is a mess, I haven't even started dinner and my dining room has looked like this for days, someone stepped in dripped paint so I also have toe marks all through the kitchen. Hopefully soon I will regain order!

Gotta go, hope everyone is well.

What to do?

I am trying to rearrange and decide what to put on the dresser. The video game TV use to be here it has now moved to my son's room leaving a very empty spot. Not sure what to put here or if i should move the dresser. It works great as storage for blankets and pillows. (Living in upstate NY you need a blanket to cover up with at night to stay warm.) I do like how the dresser looks with the salvaged doorway header(if that is what it is called) and my sign. Don't mind all the junk around it apparently I need to do some cleaning. Oh well there is always tomorrow. Any suggestions?

I have also been "playing around" with some different art work/signs. I have a lot of old silverware that is engraved or is just a nice pattern. Usually kept in a milk glass container I wanted to show them off. Below is an example I used left over pieces of molding to create a frame.
This one is a little more out there. I painted and added the silverware to an old door, you can still see the hole for the handle. I am thinking of adding a food saying or Bon Appetite. What do you think? Too much?

Hope you all had a great weekend and an even better Monday! I had a crazy day at work so I am glad it's over. I 'll leave you with a Welcome sign that hangs on my front door.

Welcome

I wanted something to hang on our gate to the back yard. It is chain link and not to attractive. I had some left over pickets from a fence we put up in the back yard.
