Off we go...

We are officially on vacation! Going to Ohio to help celebrate my Grandma's 85th birthday! She is the sweetest lady! I always had so much fun at her house. I wish I could spend more time with her.
See you all next week!

Another one done!

Only 18 more to go. Seriously I have 18 signs to finish. Not gonna happen by vacation so they will wait until I return.

This one is for my sister who is going through some tough times. It will hang in her room as a gentle reminder that she is a new creation!

Horse

A custom sign for a special little girl who loves her horse more than anything!

The Mustard Seed

My good friends from The Mustard Seed had a vision for a sign they could attach to their tent at the Farmers Market they sell at every Thursday. Here are the signs I did for them. This is just a sneak preview as I am waiting for the final pictures with them hanging from their tent. (Hopefully this Thursday, hint hint Juli!)

I am busier then ever, I keep getting more sign orders and emails for pricing. So stay tuned I will have lots of signs to share as I am hoping to get them all done before my vacation starts Friday. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Vintage Dresser

Remember the dresser I was telling you about? Here it is. We found it in a basement leftover from an estate sale, its good to have connections because you get to go in a pick through whats left for a steal. This dresser was in the basement falling apart. I almost didn't take it but I could resist the carved drawers and glass knobs. All we had to do is put it back together. The locks even still work with a skeleton key. I just love the patina!

Anyone else find any treasures this weekend?

Shrinking Dresser

We picked up this dresser missing a drawer knowing Chris could work his magic on it and cut it down to size. He has done a wonderful job once again. It is now at The Shops at 25 West for sale if anyone is interested. I have sold a ton of furniture this month so I am scrambling to get things down there to replace what is gone. What a crazy month! We recently found an old dresser (falling apart) in a basement. It is beautiful with carved drawer fronts, locks on each drawer that still work with a skeleton key. Can't wait to share it with you.
If anyone reading this has purchased any of my "stuff" I would LOVE to see pictures of how and where you used them in your home. Email me cchoover1@yahoo.com
Isn't summer supposed to be relaxing??? Hopefully soon, my vacation starts in a week and whatever doesn't get done will have to wait!

I have been busy finishing up some custom signs. Here are two more that I recently completed. I find myself singing the hymn everything I walk by this sign.

Such a true statement!
Sorry for the lack of posting I have been busy with lots of quotes and orders. I recently took on an order for 17 signs. So between work, kids, and walking my 4 miles a day I am busy working on orders and painting furniture. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining but I wanted to get everything done before I go on vacation in 2 weeks.

Redeemed ~ Restored ~ Renewed

A few months ago my cousin purchased her first home. Of course I wanted to give her something that would mean something. She chose these words because they describe what Christ did for us on the Cross, and they are a good reminder to me that I don't have to live a defeated or hopeless life but can instead have joy that God forgives my sins and welcomes me as His child.

I will be delivering this sign soon, I sure hope she loves it!

Congratulations

Tiffany and the Class of 2010! Today is the graduation party and I had the opportunity to paint the card box.
The box belonged to our Great Aunt and was made in 1971 for her birthday. She gave it to me to up cycle into a card box. It will then eventually become a keepsake box.
Even lined the inside.
Her monogram on top finishes it off.
Congratulations Tiffany you will do great in all that you do!

Let's Celebrate!

I am another year older and hopefully a little wiser, LOL!

Since I am a Cancer I thought I would share...this is me!

Cancer Personality Profile

Emotional sometimes, Cancer sun sign people tend to be some of the more caring people in our world. They are very loving and value family and friends over fame or fortune. You will always find this loving person with a dear pet of some sort.

Extremely intuitive and imaginative, these people make great artists and designers. You will find them where ever there is a need for creativity and flare. Never underestimate the scope of their imagination either.

Freedom loving, courageous and pioneering. Loves adventure, is self assertive and has as abundance of energy. Can be enterprising and will work from sun up to sun down, the Cancerian will run not walk. He is generally forceful by nature and very direct.

Not a risk taker, the astrological sign of cancer is not likely to be betting the farm on a not so well thought out venture. Rest assured this wise person will be checking all the angles before plunging in to anything.

End Table Transformation

I have been slowly finishing up projects. Here is the end table I recently finished.
Had to add a Fleur De Lis to the top.

The Chicks Along the Canal sign has been hung. It looks great, I am so pleased with how it turned out.
I also threw together a window display. Very minimal but still a great collection of up-cycled items. A window chalkboard, table leg chandelier and of course the piggy sign.

This Little Piggy

We all have those pig cutting boards we made in junior high. No this one isn't mine. I thought it would be fun to paint a line from the little piggy rhyme.

Going to the Chapel...

I was commissioned to re do this sign for the Historic Palatine Church. This Lutheran church was founded in 1749. They no longer use it for regular services but for a few throughout the year. I can't wait to get started, I will be sure to share the finished sign with you.

(This side of the sign isn't too bad, the other is extremely weathered.)
Such a beautiful church along a country road.
