Busy...Busy...Busy

It is amazing how quickly the days, weeks, months go by? Anyway I finally finished and shipped your cherub sign today Robin. I know I wanted it to go out sooner but it never happened. So watch for it!
I have been busy finishing up some projects, here is a sneak peak.

Check out the chest I purchased at The Shops at 25 West. Isn't it great! Look at the top. The color is a little off but will easily be corrected with a can of white paint.

Just love it!

Toy Chest

You can pretty much customize anything! I had a client that wanted her Grand-childrens names on an old toy chest. Simple with a big impact, these kiddos are gonna love seeing their names on display at Grandmas!

ABC was added to each end to give it a little something extra.
Sorry for the poor picture quality. The batteries for my camera always seem to be dead when I need them.

I Did it!!

Thanks to everyones advise and help on those darn Pom Poms. I finally decided to give them another try and it worked! I am so happy I can make them now!! Not too bad of a beginner.
I finally painted a few of those word corbel things I got for Christmas, I just need to distress them a bit. I do like them better white.
It was a really nice day today so Chris and I decided to go for a little drive. Well 3 1/2 hours later we made it home. Here are a few pictures from along the way.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Here is my version with a great chandelier print to match. Tres Chic for any little girl or any big girl for that matter.

Signs, Art Journal and a bad curb shopping experience, oh my

First I don't know why Blogger turns the photos sometimes very irritating! Anyway here are a few more Valentine's Day inspired signs.

Loved You Once
Love You Still
Always Have
Always Will

AND

All you need is love, love is all you need

Love those two sayings!

Front cover that has so far received some paper scraps, jewels and buttons.
I came across on old ledger type book and thought it would make a great art journal. I have been collecting small paper, pictures and misc stuff that I will eventually put into here. I guess a cross between a scrapbook and art journal. Something that someday when I am gone my future generations will get to see all the things that are important to me and what makes me me. The beginning, hopefully each page will begin to fill up.

Ok now for the part I am sure you have all been waiting for. I know me a bad curb shopping experience as I always seem to find the best stuff, not that I am bragging :) Today on my way home from the shops I pulled over to send a text message ( I am so law abiding, LOL) anyway I spotted the cutest homemade green table that must have been in someones basement. Had to have it. As I got closer the legs were cracked and in poor condition but the top was a solid piece for wood (future sign) so I grabbed it. I drive a small car that I have fit tables and dressers in before. Well this stinking table would not fit any way I tried. Well I certainly wasn't going to go put it back on their curb I mean how embarrassing. I put the table down and started pushing to bend the legs so I could fit it in, well wouldn't you know that whole stinking table falls apart! Well it finally fit in my car after 10 minutes. I am sure people driving by thought I was crazy! I should have went back with Chris and the truck or van but I was so afraid it would be gone. Things aren't always easy I guess.

Door Love...

As you know I have such a weakness for old windows and doors, like these I picked up over the summer.

When I came home tonight I found two of these lovelies on my porch. I couldn't even go in the house I had to oohhh and awww over them. Most people who know me give me "junk" or call me when they see a piece of furniture along side the road, so I wasn't immediately sure who they were from. My neighbor dropped them off thinking I could use them. So Right! Now what to do with them? What would you do? Prop them against a wall and admire their beauty (maybe in white), turn them into a piece of furniture, a chalkboard, or hang them on the wall with sconces attached.
I would love to hear your ideas!

♥L♥O♥V♥E♥

I needed a big statement piece as I get to decorate the elevator space at The Shop at 25 West for the month of February. I would say this definitely makes a statement! I have had this old window forever and since Valentines Day is in February it worked perfectly. If it sells great, if not I can always re purpose it into something else.

I cut out a sweet birdie from craft paper

and a butterfly
(not sure if I will keep them though, what do you think?)

Do you think it makes a statement?

Cake Plates

Not really sure what to call these, but you see these creations or versions of these everywhere. I came across these beautiful plates and then found tea cups that match just perfectly. It was meant to be. I adhered the plate to the cup and viola.

This one was made in the USA by Melody MO Co., just beautiful!
This one has 2 marks, Homer and Laughlin and Cunningham and Pickett, Inc.
I am sure they belong to some china set that is long gone, but I find them lovely on their own.
