Our Saturday

We had rain on and off all day yesterday. I did manage to get to a few garage sales. I will share what I got after some makeovers. I gathered all my frames from around the house and hung them on our stairs. I never realized how many I had and most of them were already black. I am pleased with the look. It was hard to take pictures though. The one below is looking up.

This one is looking down.

I also finished up some "signs" This is not really a sign. The chandelier pictures I paint have done so well I thought I would try a candelabra.

And this whimsical sign with a metal flower.

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to enter for your chance to win the flag.

Sanctuary Arts Make-Over Open House

I picked up this dresser last week. It was in rough shape, but I knew I could do something with it. After filling holes, removing peel and stick tiles (they put those in the bottom of each drawer) I ended up with this. A diamond design on the front with some wood details.

And a scroll design on each side.

I lined all the drawers with pages from an old book. Much better then peel and stick tiles.

Hope you enjoyed my make-over...go check out all the others this month.

Went down the The Shops at 25 West Today dropped off some stuff. See the black and white dresser? Check back tomorrow for my make over post. After we left we stopped at the "junk shop" as I like to call it. My daughter picked up this great old tri-fold mirror for 10.00.
Picked up these frames too, they are all carved wood.

Took this print I painted down, in case you can't read it it says... don't dream your life, live your dreams.

Did a little painting today too. Forgot the before picture, but it was plain wood.

And this one too

All finished

Wow what a day and I still have dishes and laundry. Have a great night!

Sewing Table

I find these sewing tables everywhere, some with and without the sewing machine. Since I don't sew I have no use for the machine part. The tables on the other hand can be cute. This one has great legs. (I have no idea why this is underlined,I can't get it off) We (Chris) added a tray on the inside for storage. I thought it would make a cute writing desk. You can put pens and paper in here. Not sure if anyone still writes letters though.

A little paint and she is as good as new.
The best part is I already sold her.

Well the table legs are becoming these cool garden signs

and the peg/coat got a fresh coat of paint and some numbers

I will leave you with a few new photos of my shop.

The Shops at 25 West

On my way down to restock I stopped at my new favorite junk spot and grabbed all these goodies that will soon be transformed.
Took this new sign to the booth. While I was there a sweet girl purchased
a bunch of my stuff. It was nice to get to meet someone with the same taste as me. I am such a bad blogger though, no pictures. Next time I promise.

Beautiful Day

What a great day today was! Makayla played outside ALL day and I painted.

Yes, lots of flower pictures today. First of all have you seen all the photos from the Farm Chicks show? Of course you have, I fell in LOVE with the topiaries from the Barn House Boys. Since I live several thousand miles away I won't be getting one. I made my own version, not as good as theirs, but it will do. Do we have anything similar to the Farm Chicks show here on the East coast???? Am I living under a rock and have never heard of it? If we don't we need an east coast event!
Stopped at a garage sale, picked up this metal work thing, it was attached to a shelf, but I removed it. The sweet lady that was having the sale cut me a bouquet, aren't they beautiful!

Finally a few pictures from the canal place, where my shop is.
Makayla was a great model until she realized there were bees everywhere.

Paca Gardens

The Alpaca sign is finally finished and being delivered today. This one was a challenge. I am very graphic, not so artistic so the flowers were a challenge, but I did it!

They have a great farm and a booth at the same place I am. Check out their website...

These signs are for a local girl who is a repeat customer. Gotta LOVE that! She is the sweetest girl with great color choices! Here are 2 signs, one for her and one for a wedding gift.

I finished up that sign for the Alpaca Farm tonight, just waiting for their approval and I will share pictures of that one.
